Frugal Grocer Week In Review

Frugal Grocer week in review is going to be short a recipe this week, and that is because I posted the recipe to the CorePower Sweet Potato bread pudding yesterday.  This bread pudding is just flat-out awesome.  I can’t compare it to anything else because I am viewing it from the perspective of recovery.  Getting my body ready to heal properly after a tough workout is always at the forefront of my brain.  As I made this bread pudding that  was all that I could think of and it came out tasting great as well. This week I went over by $2.36 and I made the same mistake as I did the last week.  I failed to take into account the fact that I would be spending the weekend in The Woodlands cheering on Jeff and Kevinat their marathon (a Woodlands Weekend Recap coming soon.)  Thus I have quite a bit of produce in my kitchen which sets me up for this coming week to load up on fruit since I ran out of that. All in all for $52.36 I am sorely disappointed in the number of meals but if you count bread and bread pudding then the number of meals alone from that brings my total to 24 (10 meals between the homemade bread and the bread pudding.)  That equates to a total of $2.18 per meal. This week I am planning on making ice cream so there will be a desert recipe coming soon and you can pair the ice cream with the bread pudding.

Dude you could be a zero $$$ for the rest of the week if you would have taken home some of the leftover Pizza!

Meat is so freaking expensive; good thing you don’t eat it! Only those that run 5k’s eat meat.
