Ironman Texas Training VLOG – Week #6

Ironman Texas training for Week #6 was certainly the first step in a new direction.  The rubber met the road this week with a swing from fantastic to craptastic and back again a few times.  I was emotionally and physically spent after this week and that let me know that we are about to get to work FOR REAL!

Numbers to date are:

  • Swim:  29.6 miles (3% of total miles)
  • Bike:    689 miles (76% of total miles)
  • Run:    189 miles  (21% of total miles)
  • Total Miles:   907.6

  • Swim:  19 Hours (24% of total hours)
  • Bike:    36 Hours (45% of total hours)
  • Run:    25 Hours  (31% of total hours)
  • Total Hours:   80.5 Hours

    Dude, PERFECT THIS WEEK! Much more natural on camera and good distance back.

    All I can say is that you gotta buckle that seat belt for the roller coaster ride you just got on :) It’s funny how much your body and mood change from day to day. Just keep everything in perspective and make sure you can toss out the bad workouts, they will happen and you need to be able to push through them.

    Great job and great numbers buddy!

    Had same issue w/ shoulder last year. My ART doc said that this injury is common from swimming. He is an Ironman dude too so he knew exactly where the pain was too haha.

      Yeah last week was a total roller coaster and today I had a 40 min LT on the bike and a 4 mile LT run and I am shot. Ready for bed.

      My ART worked that shoulder so hard last week I was heard wimpering. It hurt like a mother but man what a difference and the exercises he provided are so helpful.

      Green Screen…..but get this. I thought it was just software but NOOOOOO you have to actually put up a green sheet (or blue sheet) so that you can lay the effects over top.

      And yes she knows b/c its her bike in the living room that I want to move. Mine is in the garage and how that happened I’ll never know.

    First, love getting to see the house! Second–really solid training week, even if all didn’t feel perfect. That’s the way IM training goes. You’ll have weeks where you are absolutely exhausted, but then you’ll adjust and move on up. Keep up the great work and the vlogs!

    All us KTC guys are catching bikes in T2 again at IMTX. So this means you get to listen to me bitch about how tired my feet are and how hot the sun is when I slowly walk your bike back to the rack!
