Robert Swan – Bio

robert_swam_triathlonI come from a running background before I ever knew the sport of triathlon existed. I was recruited to run in high school while I was playing on the baseball team and ended up running varsity cross country and track my junior and senior year.

Since then I was always running just to stay in shape, with a few short road races here and there for fun. Skip ahead to the spring of 2010 when Jason Bahamundi invites me to do the Caveman Sprint Tri with him. I finished pretty strongly for only doing minimal training to prepare and from then on I was hooked.

I raced sprint and olympic distances that year and I am racing in my first 70.3 in October of 2011.

I am currently pursuing a Finance degree from the University of North Texas and plan to step up to Ironman distance races after I graduate.

I look forward to joining the athletes that have the determination and toughness to be able to call themselves an Ironman!
